Residence Halls | cost Each residence hall is home to anywhere from 280-930 students. That guarantees a broad mix of people and interests to fuel a variety of activities. The most popular events evolve into hall traditions, but incoming students always add fresh, new events.
Most residence hall rooms measure 12.5 x 15' and come with window blinds, beds, dressers, desks, desk chairs and closet space. Floor plans are listed below. A wing generally consists of 18-20 rooms. There are two wings per floor in each hall except McCollum, which has three, and GSP/Corbin, where each wing is considered a floor. Floor lobbies resemble "living rooms" where residents watch TV, study, visit, or play games.
Academic Resource Centers (ARCs) provide computers and study aids as well as a location for tutoring services. Halls feature special activity rooms such as ping-pong, pool, drafting tables, student kitchens, or music practice space. All residence halls have KU Card or coin-operated laundry facilities.
In coed facilities, men and women live on separate wings with a central floor lobby. All residence halls have visitation/guest policies which must be followed.
Room and board are offered as a package and cannot be purchased separately. Visit KU Dining Services web site for more information on meal plans and options.
Telecommunications services include telephone and data connectivity. Telephone service is active at move-in; long distance service is available separately. Students pay an additional charge, assessed by KU Information Technology, to activate data ports for internet access. Visit their web site for more details: www.resnet.ku.edu
When fall and spring classes are in session, we offer tours from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, in McCollum and Hashinger residence halls. Student tour guides will meet you at the front desk – no reservations required.
