KU Department of Student Housing:
Working for the Department of Student Housing at the University of Kansas is a commitment to the success of students—including yours as a graduate student! As one of the offices comprising Student Success at KU, the Department of Student Housing provides diverse and academically supportive living communities for undergraduate students, graduate students, and students with families. Over 5,500 students each year select to live on campus in a variety of nurturing environments from Thematic Learning Communities to cooperative houses, traditional residence halls, suites and apartments. The four-point mission of the Department of Student Housing includes providing:
- Reasonably priced living environments which are clean, attractive well-maintained and meet current standards of care and comfort.
- Orderly and efficient administration of the program through effective management.
- A learning environment and related co-curricular programs which promote maturity, academic success, self-determination, leadership and community participation.
- A variety of nutritious and pleasing meals, in pleasant surroundings, at a reasonable cost. Educational efforts relating food selection and eating habits to personal health is essential.
