Thanks for considering employment with the University of Kansas! Hopefully this web site is a good starting point for you to better determine if KU is the place for you. We approach recruitment from the perspective that you will be interviewing us as much as we are interviewing you. Please give us critical review. I believe you’ll find many exciting things happening in our department, and a staff that is second to none!
We’re a dynamic department that values student-centered work and creative, original thinking. Our organization is structured in a way that allows for independence and autonomy in each complex. Our programming model and procedures, for example, allow for flexibility and adaptability based on the needs of the students in any given hall or complex. This lets us tailor our work to meet students’ needs in a holistic manner.
One of our exciting recent accomplishments is that we have created curricula for staff at all levels of the residence life organization. The curricula guide our selection and training processes, and assist supervisors as they work collaboratively with staff to develop each individual’s repertoire of skills and experiences to enhance their performance. Your interests, abilities, experiences, and goals all become part of the professional development plan that you establish with your supervisor. Each staff member’s growth and development truly matters!
We are in search of talented individuals to join our staff team. If you are committed to serving students to the best of your abilities, believe in an educational and developmental approach to working with students, and value working along side people who are passionate about the work they do, KU residence life might be the place for you!
We hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Diana Robertson, Ph.D.
Interim Director for Student Housing
